The East Farm Spring Festival offers the opportunity. On Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., The University of Rhode Island’s College of Environment and Life Sciences and its Master Gardeners program present horticultural activities and exhibits, and an array of plants for sale. URI East Farm is on Route 108 in Kingston. For more information, call (401) 874-2900.

Free pH soil testing will be available for those who bring soil samples from home. Rain barrels and compost bins will be on sale. Plant information booths will be staffed by Master Gardeners and in one building the Southern Rhode Island Conservation District will hold its pre-ordered seedling sale.
