Good News About R.I. Economic Development

Yeah, yeah, yeah I hear all the Republican baloney too. Everyone is leaving because we don't give enough of our money away.

So here is some news sent to me from the R.I.Econ. Development Council.

Neurotech Pharmaceuticals, a biotechnology company focused on the development of sight-saving therapeutics for chronic eye diseases, announced January 16 that it will locate a new manufacturing facility in Rhode Island. This is in Cumberland. They were given loans for new equipment. They rec'd start-up help from the Slater Tech. Fund.

Rhode Island was one of the fastest moving states in the Beacon Hill Institute at Suffolk University's "State Competitiveness Report 2007." This year Rhode Island ranked 21st overall, bolstered by strong showings in the technology, security and human resources categories. We moved up four places since 2006 & ten since 2005.
