I bought a rain barrel from the Northern RI Conservatory through the same program.I am excited to pick it up. I have a nice little vegetable/herb garden that I intend to water with the barrel all summer.
And if anyone is more entrepreneurial than me, I think that if someone started a Rhode Island Rain Barrel company they could do very well.

www.Aquabarrel.com has rain barrel kits for the entrepreneurial person that would like to get started in their own rain barrel building business. Wholesale bulk purchase of kits and a listing on the Aquabarel website are a plus too.
If made more locally think of the smaller carbon footprint than shipping barrels by motor freight around the country....
Rain barrels are wonderful but lugging water across the yard or uphill is no picnic. A Rain Barrel Pump is a must have. They are very affordable and much cheaper than a chiro bill down the road :)
