Middletown Teacher Needs Help

**UPDATE** Jacque is a bit better, but still unconscious. Jim Gillis of the "Newport Daily News" did an update here. About $30,000 has been raised.

Jacque Gorman, my friend, who just retired, has suffered a serious medical problem while performing volunteer work in Africa. Jacque, a N.J. native, is a speech therapist. This summer after having just retired, she signed up to go to Swaziland to work with students & teachers.
'"This week, friends learned that Gorman, 56, became ill in recent weeks, contracting a blood disease called thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura, sepsis, liver disease and pulmonary edema. She suffered acute renal failure, requires daily dialysis treatments and drifts in and out of consciousness."" This is from Mary Ann Miller Allen, another Middletown speech therapist.
She was been in a few African Hospitals & her family would like to transfer her to N.Y. when her condition stabilizes.
They need money! Please send donations to "Get Jacque Gorman Home Fund," Middletown School Department, 26 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842.
I will try & get updates on her condition. Jacque lives in Portsmouth with her 2 doggies.
