Friends Trying to Get Middletown Teacher Home

Jacque lies still unconscious in an African hospital being weaned off an respirator & dialysis. She contracted a rare blood disease shortly before her planned return home. Jacque is a speech therapist who just retired from Middletown Schools.
Friends are trying to raise funds to bring her to a N.Y. hospital close to her brother & his family.
"The group has raised $30,000 in just two weeks. Middletown teachers donated $6,000 to the cause on the first day of school last week. Aquidneck School teachers are holdings “Jeans for Jacque” dress-down days every Friday to raise money.
There will be a fundraiser on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Newport Athletic Club. Club members and nonmembers can take group exercise classes, such as spinning and water aerobics, and pay what they wish to benefit the fund. After the workout at about 6 p.m., the Rhode Island Quahog Co. will hold a pasta supper fundraiser, also a pay-what-you-will event.
To donate to the Get Jacque Gorman Home Fund, send checks to the Middletown Public Schools, 26 Oliphant Lane, Middletown, RI 02842. For questions or information, e-mail MaryAnne Miller Allan at mama-mag@cox.net"

Thanks again to Meaghan Wims for the Projo article. A big thanks also to Mary Anne Miller Allan & Nancy Ashmore for all their hard-working in trying to bring Jacque back. They are both speech therapists who not only doing their jobs but have taken this activity on also.
