A Terrible Beauty is Born

You may be missed the Sunday articles about the celebrations in Ireland marking the 1917 Easter Rebellion which began Ireland on its well-deserved road to independence. My recently deceased father-in-law was quite young when this happened but remembed its aftermath as did other family members. Ireland has a heart-breaking history. I think the only other group to have a comparable tear-jerking history are the Jews. Which is probably why both groups have always had a friendly affinity for each other. Eamon deValera, the first Irish Pres. (who was born in N.Y.) was Jewish.
