Newport 9

This blog inspired me & educated me. Tom Kalinowski started this site. The title refers to his Newport voting district (9th). He in turned was inspired by Howard Dean's 50 state strategy to build a national grassroots movement in the Democratic party.
He sports a large button "9th" which is how I found him. He sat at the Whitehouse Community dinner and took notes. Gotta love him!
Check it out. The "9th's" business is for the most part , the 12's business. Our problems & concerns are more alike than they are different. When we all start to realize this, our state will be the better for it.
Reminds me of a school rule when we went off the property,
"When you go out in the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and
stick together.

So true, Eileen. That's why I link to local issue blogs when I find them, like Save Horton, which is a Cranston-based education blog. People across Rhode Island need to realize that their local problems are really local manifestations of statewide (and even nationwide) problems, and that they ultimately require concerted statewide or nationwide action. In the meantime, local blogs can (and in the case of Save Horton, do) serve to bring local communities together.

Btw, Eileen, you're really cookin' with gas lately. I'm going to have to start cranking out more posts on Newport 9 just to keep up.
